Visitors can be Super Man or Wonder Woman for a day at Comic-Con International, July 24-27, at the San Diego Convention Center. Comic-Con has become a signature summertime event for San Diego; it is the largest comics and pop culture event in the United States, attracting thousands of artists, celebrities and fans of comic books, movie memorabilia and all things related to pop culture.
In summer 2014, LEGOLAND® California Resort plans to open a new LEGO® Legends of Chima Water Park, based on the LEGO Group's popular Chima product line. The centerpiece of the new three-acre water park is the Lion Temple Wave Pool, where guests make their way through a LEGO® archway and into an interactive wave pool designed for families with young children.
In June, Belmont Park, historic seven-acre amusement center in Mission Beach, will open new attractions and dining options, completing a $10 million renovation that began in 2012.
New rides include a 29-foot-high zip linegiving riders a bird's eye view of the historic park, The Leap of Faith-challenging the brave to free fall 30 feet, and a two-seater NASCAR-style car ride over a flashy oval track with a whip-like action for extreme fun.
Opening Memorial weekend, the new Tull Family Tiger Trail at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park features a forested habitat providing a new home for the Safari Park's Sumatran tigers, a critically endangered species.
Tiger Trail offers up-close views of the fascinating felines and highlights conservation efforts for the species. Tiger Trail is included in Safari Park admission.
During the summer season, be dazzled by SeaWorld's nightly display of sparkle and excitement. Don't miss these colorful sumnmer night fireworks!

Now through Sept. 28, The San Diego Natural History Museum (the Nat) in Balboa Park hosts National Geographic's Real Pirates exhibition. This interactive exhibition showcases treasure and artifacts from the first fully authenticated pirate ship discovered in U.S. water. The NAT has also announced three major exhibitions it will host during Balboa Park's 2015 Centennial Celebration:The Discovery of King Tut, Coast to Cactus in Southern California, and Maya: Hidden Worlds
Bayfair, San Diego's largest annual family festival and sports competition attracts race fans from all over the world, with over 150,000 spectators in 3 days. Bayfair is famous for its family festival atmosphere (over 1,000 motorhomers), interactive exhibits, vendors and specialty foods, nightly live entertainment and Saturday night fireworks extravaganza, there's something for everyone in the family. San Diego Bayfair attracts more powerboat racing classes than any other site in the world, and is known as the hallmark event in the nation. The different classes of boats will race on the famed Bill Muncey Memorial Race Course, in honor of the sport's greatest unlimited driver with 62 unlimited wins. The Bill Muncey race course is the fastest race course in the world. The Drag Boats compete in front of Crown Point Shores in front of thousands of motorsports fans!
