Can’t-Miss San Diego Coffee Shops

Ah, coffee. Where would we be without our classic brewed awakenings? There’s just nothing like a nice, toasty mug of motivation in the morning to really kick-start a day’s adventures. San Diego celebrates our love affair with all things Joe, from the laid-back, surf-inspired havens serving up smooth cold brews and artisanal pastries, to the downtown cafés crafting meticulously brewed pour-overs. Whether you find yourself people-watching in the Gaslamp Quarter or soaking up ocean views in La Jolla, there’s a spot for everyone to cozy up at this fall. So if you’re on the hunt for the ideal spot to grab that morning cup, we’ve got some stellar suggestions for where to start your San Diego coffee tour.

Terrace Café (just steps away!)

There’s no need to even set foot off the property to get your day started right. Our very own Chef Michael at the on-site Terrace Café is on hand every morning to create our signature à-la carte breakfast plates! Of course, that includes fresh-brewed coffee.

And since we take special care in everything we do, the cups at Terrace Café aren’t your ordinary brew. We proudly brew Mostra Coffee — local coffee experts who were the recipient of Roast Magazine’s prestigious “Roaster of the Year” award in 2020. Make sure to try our Coastal Cappuccino, Terrace Latté, and more!

Better Buzz (0.4 miles)

This popular local coffee company has locations all over San Diego, but their Pacific Beach location is right in our backyard. Better Buzz sources their beans from regional, women-owned coffee estates, and roasts the beans locally — so you’ll never suffer a mass-produced cup of grungy grounds here. When you go, try the fantastic Hazelnut Divinity, and be sure to pair it with a fresh-baked pastry. You really can’t go wrong here.
