In the spirit of all things earth-friendly, we’ve once again been accepted into the California Green Lodging Program, a leading program for environmentally conscious hotels. We’re proud to announce that they’ve honored us with a Level 3 award in recognition of our green practices.
What it Means
The certification program “encourages state and local government travelers to seek out and give preference to these certified ‘green’ hotels. By traveling green, government travelers divert waste from landfills, and conserve energy and water as they conduct business for the government entities; thus, reducing the carbon footprint for travel and supporting California’s green initiative.” All around, the CGLP works to make our part of the world healthier and more prosperous.
How We Qualified
The California Green Lodging Program certifies lodging facilities that demonstrate water and energy conservation, waste minimization, recycling, environmentally friendly purchasing, program sustainability, and pollution prevention. All of these are part of our philosophy, and can be seen in just a short walk through our rooms, common spaces, and grounds.
The Pacific Terrace Hotel is part of a highly select group: Of the approximately 289 hotels in San Diego, there are currently only 35 green hotels in San Diego certified by CGLP, and out of those hotels, only 13 have won Level 3 certification.
We are proud to have been awarded this recognition for the second year in a row. Everyone on the Pacific Terrace team works continuously to make our hotel a little greener each year, and we look forward to being part of the program next year.
