5 Reasons to Hit the Beach This Holiday Season

San Diego has warm weather all year long, and the holiday season is no exception. While a beach getaway is great during any month, the holiday season offers more reasons than ever to get your toes in the sand.

Virtual Santa Run – December 12th – December 25th, 2020

This is one of the most festive 5K runs there is. Don’t miss the spectacle of hundreds of runners in a ‘Sunny Santa’ suit racing through the streets of San Diego, plus a kid run and a dog run.   Be sure to stay for the celebration after at the Pacific Beach Holiday Parade, where all participants receive a complimentary drink.

Christmas on Crystal Pier – Cancelled for 2020

Forget the typical photo with Santa in the mall and head to Crystal Pier, which is just a quick walk from the hotel, for a celebration of the holiday season that only San Diego can deliver.  From a tree lighting at sunset to decorated wreaths, experience the spirit of the season with friends and family.

Pacific Beach Holiday Parade – Cancelled for 2020

It’s not technically on the beach, but just a few blocks inland, it’s one of San Diego’s oldest holiday parades. The parade starts a short walk away from Pacific Terrace Hotel, on Garnet Avenue and Haines Street, and continues back toward the ocean, running up Bayard Street, which runs parallel to the beach.
