Little Italy, located twenty minutes from the Pacific Terrace, is a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood, known for its amazing Italian food and offerings. Little Italy is filled with patio cafes for alfresco dining, top notch; world famous restaurants, pubs, art galleries, shops, and the beautiful Amici Park. In addition, there are numerous one-of-a-kind clothing boutiques, music venues and quaint piazzas found throughout the area, while the Saturday Little Italy Mercato Farmers' Market draws crowds for its fresh, organic produce, gourmet food and craft stalls. The green lawns of Waterfront Park have fountains and offer views of the bay.

The central point in Little Italy is a European-style piazza known as Piazza della Famiglia. Since the 1930's this plaza has been the main community gathering spot. The 10,000 square-foot plaza connects India and Columbia streets and features a dramatic tiled fountain. The piazza is dedicated to the past, present and future families of the Little Italy neighborhood first settled by the Italian fishermen.
