2015 San Diego Beer Week
November 6 - 15
You don't need Oktoberfest to celebrate the beauty of the brew. Sponsored by the San Diego Brewers Guild, SD Beer Week is in its 5th year. There are literally dozens of events taking place all over San Diego County, from La Jolla to the Gaslamp Quarter. You'll want to study the schedule and make a plan before you go. Or, why not throw caution to the wind and wing it? There are all kinds of activities throughout the week including brewery tours, beer pairings, book signings, beer dinners, beer lunches, brewing demos, film screenings, cask nights, and of course, beer tastings!
Things get started November 6 and 7, at the 13th Annual San Diego Brewers Guild Festival. It takes place at the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier in downtown San Diego. Over 50 San Diego County breweries will offer samples, and a portion of the proceeds go towards local charities. Purchase a VIP ticket and hobnob with elite, rare, and award-winning craft brewery folks who love to talk shop and show off their goods. The 2-day pass is $100, and includes unlimited beer samples and snacks, and a souvenir tasting glass. The Designated Driver pass is $40, which gets you all the food samples you can nibble!
San Diego Beer Week's closing event is the Beer Garden on the Arroyo Terrace at the Lodge at Torrey Pines. It'll be held Sunday, November 15, 12-3 PM. Enjoy the creations of 36 San Diego chefs and craft breweries. This laidback event features food and beer pairings. Admission includes unlimited tastings of beer and food. Tickets are $85.
