About 1 week(s) ago by The Pacific Terrace Hotel

San Diego offers a wide variety of sights to see year-round. Discover new activities for the kids, explore national monuments filled with tide pools, and enjoy relaxing beach days. There is always something for everyone! The Pacific Terrace Hotel employees share their favorite sight-seeing destinations around San Diego.

Emilio - Balboa Park 11 miles

Balboa Park has something for everyone, which is why it remains a favorite for Emilio and his out of town guests. Emilio, from our housekeeping department says, "Balboa Park offers a fresh, open environment and is the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful San Diego weather." Emilio enjoys taking his son to the History Museum to visit the dinosaur exhibit. Balboa Park is a short 15 minute drive from the Pacific Terrace Hotel.

Nancy - Presidio Park 7 miles

Nancy is an amenities department employee and her number one spot to visit in San Diego is Presidio Park for its sweeping views, amazing sunsets, and historical significance. "Make sure to stop at the Junipero Serra Museum, which chronicles the history of San Diego", Nancy suggests. Presidio Park is near Old Town, the birthplace of California, and is a short 15-minute drive from the hotel.

Jen - La Jolla 5 miles

Our Director of Sales, Jen recommends La Jolla to all of our guests at Pacific Terrace, it's also the perfect location for a family outing. Jen and her family love to visit the children's pool, which is a short 15-minute drive from the hotel, to view the harbor seals - especially during pupping season from December 15 - May 15. There are also several small beaches nearby, including Wipeout Beach to the south and Shell Beach to the north.

Dan - Cabrillo National Monument 10 miles

Our Concierge, Dan, may recommend San Diego attractions to guests all day long, but his personal favorite is Cabrillo National Monument in Point Loma. Just a short, scenic drive from the hotel, Cabrillo National Monument is the home to Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, Old Point Loma Lighthouse, and protected tide pools. It is also one of the best places in San Diego for a panoramic view of the city. Whales can be spotted here in January and February.
