Being outside in the summertime, with mouthwatering food everywhere you turn? We’re in. Here’s the deal: $25 gets you all-inclusive samples from a variety of local restaurants from San Diego at the Heart of Pacific Beach Restaurant Walk. This event is a great way to get to know the cuisine and vibe our neighborhood, and get a taste of the Pacific Beach restaurant offerings. Be sure to head over to this self-guided food tour between Dawes and Lamont streets on September 12th from 4p-9p!
Here’s who we’re hoping returns from last year’s Restaurant Walk:
1. Hammond’s Gourmet Ice Cream
You haven’t had gourmet ice cream until you’ve tried Hammond’s. Their eclectic take on traditional flavors makes them one of the most unique ice cream shops in San Diego. And don’t worry, you won’t have to choose between peanut butter and guava jelly or fan-favorite chocolate coconut macadamia nut, Hammond’s offers flights of 32 flavors so you can try them all.
2. The Fish Shop
This local fish shop has been serving up fresh and delicious seafood since 2010. Known for its simple menu, which consists of fresh seafood, your choice of battered or fried, seasonings, and an array of mouthwatering sides, has made this Pacific Beach mainstay a go to joint for a casual portside dinner.
3. Vallarta Express
Self-proclaimed as a “FreshMex” eatery, this place sources its ingredients from around San Diego to serve up monstrous portions of Surf & Turf burritos, Carne Asada Fries, and a myriad Baja-Cali favorites.
And of course, we have to plug sister restaurant to our favorite neighborhood eatery, Kono’s Café. Konito’s does breakfast, and they do it very, very well. Serving up morning favorites all day long, Konito’s is known for dishing out unique breakfast burritos full of San Diego flavor.
5. The Patio on Lamont
This locally sourced farm to table modern eatery takes the best of what San Diego has to offer to fill their menu with sustainable and unique spins on American classics.
